On the seventh day after transfer, a blood test is arranged to check HCG, human chorionic gonadotropin.

Therefore, checking the HCG level can help confirm whether pregnancy has occurred.

Usually, when the HCG level is above 10, pregnancy is considered successful.

However, in a good pregnancy, the HCG level should double every 48 hours.

Last week, one happy mother-to-be had her second HCG test.

The result was 400, and it had doubled.
